How I take care of my skin

     Hello My Beautiful Readers  💕

    Welcome back to my blog everyone! So this week I didn't know what I wanted to post because originally I was wanting to post about my meet Tom Holland experience but I'm not 100% ready with the draft and I need to polish some things, so that will be my next post I think!
But this post is going to be all about my skin care. I have struggled with acne for a while, to the point that I became very self conscious and wanted to do everything to hide them/ get rid of them.

Here is a picture of how bad my acne got and also this was when I was in 10th grade.

When I was in 10th grade I really hated my skin and in the beginning of the school year I started to wear makeup. Then I didn't know about primer so there was never anything to protect my pores and skin. I got so self conscious of my acne that I never went a day without makeup..I didn't want anyone to see it and would cake my face everyday. But towards the end of the year I decided to go one day without makeup and I ended up liking it, so I wanted to see how long I could go without it, I ended up going for two months. I noticed my skin kinda got better but after all the makeup and not really having a skin care routine my face was not in great condition. That summer I tested so many different acne toners,cleansers, and face mask. None of them worked and ended up making my skin worse.
When Junior year happened I didn't wear make up to school because I was motivated to clear up my skin. As much as I hated everyone see my acne, I had no motivation to want to get up early and put on makeup.
Fast forward to the summer after Junior year....My mom noticed how insecure I was becoming and decided that maybe it was time to see a dermatologist. That July I went and there they prescribed me pills to take twice a day that get rid of the bad toxins in my body (I.E ones that unhealthy foods carry) and they gave me a special face cream that I would need to use at night.
This photo was taken in July of 2017 so around a year ago from now.
During summer of 2017 my skin started to become a lot more clear and a lot more healthier. My skin started to have more of a glow to it. One of the life saving tips I got from my mom was to moisturizer twice a day. I never moisturized and when I started to my skin was looking so much better and now I cant ever go a day without moisturizing twice a day. So if you don't...do it! Because its a small thing that will make a big difference!

Even after finally getting the clear skin I have been wanting for years, I wasn't totally satisfied. I wasn't really pleased with how much chemicals I was putting on my skin and small problems I had with my skin. So I decided to do some research on some DIY facial remedies. I found masks and scrubs to do when I feel like pampering myself. Adding these to my skin routine has made a huge difference!  So I would like to share my routine that helped get me clear my skin up.

Here is my Skin-Routine

  1. When I first wake up I take a handful of water and wash away any bacteria that could've come from my pillow.
  2. Then I throw on a quarter size of Moisturizer ( I use Equate Beauty All Day Moisturizing Lotion {The non-greasy one}
  3. Once a week I like to do a face mask, so typically I like to do them on Sunday's to start my week with a fresh face, So when I use one I like to use the Formula 10.0.6 Pores Be Pure Skin Clarifying Mud Mask {Its in a pink bottle and I got it from Ulta!}
  4. Then every other day when I am in the shower I use a sugar scrub. (Take one cup of sugar, three tablespoons of Coffee {Grind up} and then a tablespoon of Olive oil. This scrub will help with getting the dead skin off your face to give it a nice glow and make your face look healthier.
  5. Then in the morning and night I take my acne medication ( Minocycline) I was prescribed
  6. Then to wrap up my day I use my face cleanser given to me from my dermatologist gave me (Sodium sulfacetamide...I think? Not sure if that's right..I don't feel like getting up and grabbing it.)

SO thats how I take care of my skin and also the journey to getting me to finally take care of my skin and after all of the work, it has finally paid off. My skin looks the best its ever looked and I never ever wear makeup because I feel so confident without it!

Here is how my skin looks currently!

Now and then I do get the occasional zit or redness but that's life! and one little zit wont kill me. A main thing to keep in mind is that stress can cause acne...I know that sounds crazy but its true. Being stress can cause you to break out...So try to not stress a lot over little things. Try finding something that can keep you calm.

But moral of the story is to just love yourself for who you are. You are beautiful no matter what! Don't let a little thing like acne ruin your life!

So that is it for today's blog! I hope you enjoyed it and learned some new things! If you try out anything I wrote about let me know what you think of it! Also let me know what you want you want to see me write a post about!

Hope you have an amazing day!
