Yes! If you couldn't tell but this post is going to be about The Death Cure! Which if you don't know what that is then where have you been? Have you been living under a rock? 🤔
Anyways! Death Cure is the third movie in The Maze Runner trilogy , Which is a book series (I highly HIGHLY recommend reading them, You will fall in love with the characters, and the story line is so unique!) ❤️
Omg Where do I begin! This 👏 Film 👏 Had👏Me 👏 SHOOK
Like oh my gosh, OK the book had me shocked but the movie, like I said I was shook. 😵
I will give you a quick little run trough of what it is about then I'll give you my thoughts and some other things.
OK sooooooooooooo the movie is about Thomas and the others are on the hunt to rescue their friend Minho who was captured by WICKED. In order to save him they will have to try to sneak into the "Last city" That none of them had heard of until they find a mask. WICKED is trying to find a cure to cure the flare disease that is killing the human race. The group face many many issues trying to save their friend.
Now that you are all caught up lets go on with the review.
I'm going to try so hard to keep this as unbias as possible, which will be a struggle because I am a huge fan of this series. 🙌🏻❤️
Ok so first I will state the obvious, Its different then the book, like any book based movie. They made changes and some I liked and some I just really didn't like. I wont list all of them because there are so many I will just list the ones that I found interesting.
*SPOILER ALERT (Well not really a spoil because if you are really a fan of this franchise you would have read the books but Ill just put the warning)
•The changes they made with Newts death 💔 and everything leading up to it. In the book the gladers in the beginning find out from Janson (Evil guy at wicked, picture below) who is immune and who isn't immune to the flare, there is when Newt finds out that he is not immune and could get the flare if bitten. In the movie they don't even mention the list of who is immune and who isn't, and we don't find out that Newt isn't immune until he gets infected half way through the movie. I think that if they kept that like the book it would've made more sense to some people who haven't read the book. I went to the movie with my family and out of the four of us I am the only one who read the whole series and I know the books very well, but to my family they were confused with why Newt got the flare and not the others.
•The second change they made that relates to Newt and his death was the note newt gives to Thomas, Now this change is one that I actually really like and am glad they went with this.
The change was that the letter Newt wrote to Thomas is shared at the end of the movie, In the book right after Newt finds out that he is slowly becoming a crank he gives Thomas this nice note where Newt spills everything to Thomas ending it with a task that he hopes Thomas will follow. In the movie it isn't till the end that Thomas receives the note, he gets the note from a necklace newt wore around his neck. This note was more sweet and peaceful then in the book, it was Newt telling Thomas about his life and memories he had.
I think that this change really made the movie so much better, it was an amazing way to end the movie and the franchise, Everyone loves newt and ending it with him basically summing up the whole series was bitter sweet but was much needed.

NOW TO THE CHANGE THAT MAKES ME MAD
So the final change, I saved the best for last so make yourself comfy because this one is crazy.
•So we all know WICKED who is the huge company who started the whole thing, they created the Maze, rescued the gladers. WICKED this whole time has been trying to discover a cure to fight this terrible disease. Many people argue that they are good because they are trying to fight the flare, they have to do what they have to in order to save the word (even if it means torturing kids, people to create and test a cure).
In the book is when WICKED is exposed! Ava Paige (Picture listed below, she is an official at WICKED) tells Thomas that he was right the whole time, that WICKED was bad. She tells him that WICKED created the Flare disease in order to control the human population...

Ok I think that this is super important! Like this whole disease ruined so many people close to Thomas! AND HE WAS RIGHT THE WHOLE TIME!!!

I feel that if they had this scene then everything would make sense, it would show how everything ties together, but I guess someone thought it wasn't important enough to add (I did see how its not) 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😤
Overall my thoughts on the movie was that despite the changes it was wonderfully done. 🔥The actors/actresses killed their roles.🙌🏻
I think that Thomas Brodie-Sangster really did amazing because you could see the change of Newt transforming, and him jumping in and out of insanity, well still staying the same Newt we all know and love. He definitely deserves some love and appreciation for his acting in this film (I also think he deserve an award because he was that good, and my favorite😂❤️☺️🙄)
Dylan O'Brien also did amazing in this movie, he really made you feel the emotions that Thomas was feeling during the movie. He also did amazing at all of the stunts he had to do.👌🏻👌🏻
The sets and effects looked amazing , the cranks looked great with makeup and the effects they added🙌🏻.

I do highly suggest that you go see this movie if you are into dystopian adventure type of movie, Like I said earlier I do highly suggest reading the books because they are amazing and there are some thing cool things that aren't in the film. Also the characters are amazing and you will fall in love with one of them if not all of them. It is a great mixture of adventure, action, friendship, and suspense.❤️😊
Also for you Newtmas shippers....There is so much Newtmas moments and its amazing and they should have been canon...They deserved better 💔
I know this might be very long but it was fun to write, and I hope you guys enjoyed it!
